JOS, NIGERIA — Eagle Eye Watch News has unveiled an interactive secondary school mentorship program and career talk designed to expose aspiring students to the core tools, organizational structures, and future prospects of professional journalism.

The initiative was announced at a press conference at the organization’s regional headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, as part of its month-long 20th anniversary celebrations under the theme “Two Decades of Truth: Navigating Digital Media Frontiers and Community Journalism for National Development.

“Leadership and Career Exposure,The career talk will be spearheaded directly by the Executive Director of Eagle Eye Watch News, alongside key members of the editorial and technical teams.

This leadership-led initiative targets secondary school students considering media careers, aiming to demystify the industry and showcase the long-term benefits of practicing journalism:

Organizational Structure: Students will learn how a modern newsroom operates, mapping out the hierarchy from reporters and editors to technical directors.

Journalism Tools: Participants will be exposed to the physical and digital tools used in modern news gathering, multimedia production, and broadcasting.

Future Prospects: The sessions will highlight emerging career pathways in digital media, data journalism, and investigative reporting.

Interactive Dialogue and Exhibition to ensure an engaging experience,the program includes a dedicated Questions and Answers (Q&A) session.

This segment allows secondary students to interact directly with the Executive Director and team members, asking pressing questions about media ethics, field challenges, and educational pathways.

The event will also feature:Historical Exhibition: A curated display showcasing Eagle Eye Watch News’ landmark publications and investigative print editions spanning the past two decades.

Souvenir Gifting: Every participating student will receive historic archive publications to take home for continued learning.

Group Photograph: A formal photo session with the Executive Director and media team to commemorate the milestone.

Refreshments: Social time for students to network informally with veteran practitioners.

Management noted that by targeting students at the secondary level, the organization hopes to instill strong media literacy habits and inspire ethical storytelling standards before they enter higher education.
