Insecurity:Sokoto Catholic parishioner, Tony Udemezue regains freedom

The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto in North-West Nigeria has confirmed the safe release of its abducted parishioner, Tony Udemezue by his abductors.

The Director, Social Communication of the Diocese, Chris Omotosho revealed to the media. Th parishioner was abducted in the early hours of Monday by gunmen in Tambuwal town, headquarters of Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State has regained his freedom.

The victim has since been reunited with his family.

Omotosho says the family expresses deep appreciation to all friends and well-wisher for their prayers, encouragement and support.

The family also thanked God for the safe release of Tony Udemezue.

EAGLE EYE NEWS24 reports that bandits abducted, Tony Udemezue, in Tambuwal Town, Sokoto State Monday morning.

Mr Udemezue, a member of the Catholic Church of Sokoto Diocese, was abducted at his residence.
