Fresh facts have emerged why the enigmatic governor of River State, Governor Nyesom Wike endorsed his APC counterpart Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a 2nd –term.
Wike recently poured his support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a 2nd term despite his party’s flag bearer, Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran .
Eagle Eye News 24 findings revealed that River State Governor, Wike who has been in the eyes of the storm lately following his face-off with his party’s (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, hit the polity once again with his controversial endorsement of the ruling APC Lagos governor . A move that many see as a way of throwing punches to his party (PDP) for failing to adhere to his demand for the removal of the party’s National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu.
Our investigations revealed that Wike’s move to support Governor Sanwo-Olu was a way to express his solidarity to one of his ally, Chief Bode George,a chieftain of PDP who has been one of his strong allies and has firmly stood with him.
Recall that Chief Bode George has not been having a strong relationship with the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Governorship candidate for Lagos State, Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran since his emergence as the PDP flagbearer for the state.
Our source also revealed that Gov.Wike being a charismatic and maverick politician is visioning his likely emergence as a presidential hopeful in 2027 despite his narrow loss to Alh. Atiku Abubakar at the recent PDP primaries in Abuja. It is base on this permutation that Wike is trying to align himself with the Lagos APC electorates considering the huge votes from Lagos State.
The endorsement of Governor Babajide Sanwolu, by his River State counterpart have received various reactions in the polity. While many see this as a blow on PDP, others see the move as anti-party activities, though as at press time the PDP at the National has not responded to this development.
EAGLE EYE NEWS24 reports that the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, last Tuesday endorsed his Lagos counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for a second term in office.
Mr Wike spoke at the ongoing 22nd National Women’s conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) in the Victoria Island area of the state.
Mr Wike, a chieftain in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a major opposition party, endorsed Mr Sanwo-Olu over his party’s governorship candidate in the state – Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran.
