The Special Task Force assigned to restore law and order in Plateau State, Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, Operation Safe Haven, OPSH on Wednesday night killed three armed men suspected to be bandits. The men were known to have been robbers who terrorize travellers along Mangu Road in Plateau State.
This is coming few hours to the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The incident was reported to have happened at about 11pm,adjacent the Plateau State NYSC Orientation Camp in Mangu Local Government Area of the State.
EAGLE EYE WATCH gathered from an eye witnessed who do not want his name in print, revealed that at the time of the robbery, information reached the OPSH Sector Commander in Mangu and he swiftly re-enforced his men to the area in a private vehicle. On arriving the scene of the incident, the soldiers engaged the gang of robbers in a shootout and as a result, three of them were killed.
Some weapons were also recovered, while their corpses are said to be in the custody of Mangu Divisional Police Headquarters.
Our reporter could not reach the spokes person of the Nigerian Police Force ASP Ubah Ogaba on the incident for comment as at press time.
Recall that the Department of State Security Services, DSS issued an alert to Nigerians over a plot to destabilize the country in a statement on Monday evening, signed by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, the security outfit revealed that certain interest groups and highly placed individuals were scheming to foster Chaos in the country .
