FOOTBALL:Nigeria,s Chukwueze set for Real Madrid clash

Super Eagles of Nigeria youth prodigy Samuel Chukwueze has finally arrived Spain after international duty with the national team in an Africa Cup of Nations two legged qualifying match against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, EAGLE EYE WATCH reveals.
The Nigeria national team player did not participate in Villarreal’s penultimate workout before the visit of La Liga champions Real Madrid to the Estadio de la Cerámica last Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach of the Yellow Submarine, Unai Emery confirmed during yesterday’s pre-match press conference that Chukwueze is in contention to feature against Los Blancos and urged him to quickly change his mentality.
The 21-year-old joined his teammates in training on Friday afternoon ahead of the titanic clash, after being away for around eleven days due to his commitments with the Super Eagles.
If he his selected by Emery today, it would be the fifth time in his career he has faced Real Madrid and his four previous appearances were all starts in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons.
Against Getafe in the last game before the international break, Chukwueze was not utilized off the bench and was also not handed minutes in the Europa League fixture vs Maccabi Tel Aviv on November 5.
The Super Eagle got his ninth La Liga goal in his last outing against Real Valladolid.
Recall that Samuel Chukwueze was in the score sheet against the Lone Stars of Sierra Leone in the 4-4 draw of the 1st leg AFCON qualifier in Benin capital of Edo State, South- South,Nigeria though he could not rekindle the bubble in the return leg fixture in Freetown which ended goalless.
