The Perversion of the Pulpit: Why the New Trend of “Kingdom Polygamy” Leads Straight to Perdition

By Ejoh C.E.
The body of Christ is witnessing a strange, deeply unsettling hour. A wave of compromise is sweeping through the global church, leaving a trail of doctrinal shipwreck in its wake. Recently, Christendom was startled by the public spectacle of US Pastor Israel Ford of LifeWorks Church in Ohio—mistakenly referred to by some as “Pastor Lloyd”—standing on his pulpit alongside his first wife to boldly introduce a second woman into what they blasphemously label a “Kingdom Marriage”. To assert from a sacred altar that teaching monogamy is “unbiblical” is not just an error; it is a direct assault on the pristine standard of Jehovah.
When the Apostle Paul wrote to young Timothy, he declared a truth that provides an absolute anchor for the Church in times of widespread apostasy: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19). God’s foundational truths are immutable. They cannot be bent to accommodate human lust, modern convenience, or cultural regression. Those who truly belong to Christ are identified by their departure from iniquity, not by their public celebration of it.
The concept of one husband and one wife is strictly scriptural and reflects God’s perfect, original will. In Matthew 19:4–5, Jesus took His listeners back to the beginning, stating, “He which made them at the beginning made them male and female… and they twain shall be one flesh.” The arithmetic of heaven is clear: one plus one equals one. The moment a man introduces a third party into that covenant, the “one flesh” bond is severed, and the act transforms into what Jesus explicitly categorized as adultery (Matthew 19:9). Polygamy is a direct rebellion against God’s perfect design.
We must remember the stark warnings given to the early Church. In Galatians 1:6–8, Paul marveled at how quickly believers were being removed from the grace of Christ unto “another gospel.” He pronounced an absolute curse, an anathema, on anyone—even an angel from heaven—who preaches a gospel contrary to what was established. Teaching that polygamy is acceptable for a New Testament believer, let alone a shepherd of the flock, is exactly that: “another gospel” birthed from carnal minds.
Furthermore, we are living in the very days Paul forewarned in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, where he spoke of a massive “falling away” that must occur. This presentation of a second wife on a Christian pulpit is a visible manifestation of that great apostasy. It is a sign of a backslidden church adjusting its theology to accommodate the flesh.
Let it be known clearly and without ambiguity: polygamy is a sin that disqualifies a soul from the ultimate prize. God’s standard for leadership is clear: a bishop must be the husband of one wife (1 Timothy 3:2). Those who persist in altering God’s design, living in adultery, and leading congregations astray will find themselves locked out when the trumpet sounds. They are not rapture-ready or raptureable, for the Bridegroom is returning for a spotless Church, not one defiled by the deceitfulness of sin.
The foundation of the Lord stands sure. Man may change his laws, and pastors may change their doctrines, but God’s standard remains unshakeable. It is time for true believers to stand firm on the ancient landmarks of truth and depart from this modern iniquity.
