2027 Polls: GCMHE, Eagle Eye News Expand Pre-Election Journalist Workshops ,Gear Up for INEC Accreditation

JOS, NIGERIA — As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prepares to flag off its 100-day countdown and stakeholders framework on October 6, 2026, the Global Center for Media and Human Empowerment (GCMHE) in alliance with Eagle Eye Watch News has announced a massive expansion of its pre-election media interventions.
Building upon its successful historical footprints in Plateau State, the joint civil society and media hub is extending its highly acclaimed Ethical Journalism and Countering Misinformation capacity-building workshops into Nasarawa, Bauchi, and Gombe states ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The collaborative mission leverages the extensive field track record of Eagle Eye Watch News, which successfully covered the 2019,2023 General Elections, combined with GCMHEs specialized institutional expertise in democracy promotion and human rights advocacy.
For the 2027 cycle, both organizations will submit independent parallel applications on the INEC portals—Eagle Eye Watch News via the INEC Media Accreditation Portal (IMAP) and GCMHE via the Domestic Observer Group registry.
The inclusion of Bauchi and Gombe states comes directly on the heels of recent legislative by-elections in those territories, which INEC designated as essential operational indicators for the nationwide 2027 infrastructure.
Speaking from the Regional Headquarters in Jos, the organizers stated:”Our past interventions proved that an educated press is the strongest shield against election violence and fake news.
By extending our specialized journalist training tracks and student mentorship networks into Nasarawa, Bauchi, and Gombe states, we are building a formidable regional wall of transparency.
We are fully prepared to subject our joint deployment metrics, print archives, and digital infrastructures to INECs upcoming accreditation vetting.
