GCMHE, LP Pres.Candidate Obi hail record-breaker, Tobi Amusan, Brume

The Ag.Director-General Global Center for Media and Human Empowerment(GCMHE), Charles Ejoh,has joined other prominent Nigerians to shower encomiums on the world’s latest champion, Oluwatobilola Amusan, who in the early hours of Monday broke the world 100 metres women hurdles record at the just-concluded World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United States.
Amusan set a new world record in the semi-finals of the athletic event and in the final became the first Nigerian to win a World Championship gold medal.
While congratulating Amusan, Ejoh hailed the track superstar for “projecting the lofty heights of Nigeria from the international podium, putting the nation in a joyful and unforgettable memories of tears of joy and ecstasy.”
He said the superlative performance of the golden girl will continue to motivate and inspire the upcoming generations of Nigerian athletes and others in all works of lives to achieve spectacular success .
The Chief Executive also applauded Ese Brume for representing Nigeria with honour and pride, carting away the prestigious silver medal in the women’s long jump event.
In his remarks, Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, said Amusan is an example of what the Nigerian youth can do given the right leadership.
Obi in a tweet on his official twitter handle @PeterObi, noted that her tears at the podium signifies how Nigeria needs leaders to bring the aspirations and talents of Nigerian youths to fruition.
He wrote; “I sincerely congratulate Tobi Amusan on winning the 100m hurdles gold medal and setting a world record. Her tears at the ceremony podium while the Nigerian anthem played, connects that our dear country needs leaders to match the talents and ambitions of her youths.”
