Plateau Utd escape Abia Warriors scare with 1-0 victory in Jos

Former champions Plateau United boosted their chances of escaping relegation in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League with a narrow 1-0 win over Abia Warriors during a match-day 28 game in Jos on Sunday, Eagle Eye Sports24 reports.

A 54th-minute penalty that came as a result of pint size,Mohammed Umar’s dummy via a through pass in the opposition area resulted into a penalty which was neatly converted by Olawale Doyeni made the difference for the Peace Boys.
The penalty was hotly contested by the Abia Warriors players and coaching crew.

The victory ultimately moved the Peace Boys out of the relegation zone into the 14th position on the log with 34 points after 28 matches.

Despite the goal,Abia Warriors duo of innocent Godwin and Ojonugba Adejoh couple with the introduction of stylish jersey number 10, Paul Samson and Emmanuel Onu brought fresh vigour to the Umuahia based side mounting breadth taking pressure but Plateau United Goalkeeper, John Amah’s impressive form continued to stop the attempts with the assistants from the defence line that stood like the Rock of Gilbrata.

Plateau United will now travel to Ikenne,Ogun State to confront Sunshine Stars of Akure at their adopted home ground in Remo Stars Stadium on Match Day 29 on Saturday.

Eagle Eye Sports24 reports that Sunshine Stars were able to secure a hard earned point last week against relegation threatened Nassarawa United in Lafia after playing a one all draw.
