NPFL MD31:Plateau United Defeat Remo Stars in crunchy match in Jos

The Nigerian Premier Football League(NPFL)match day 31 between Plateau United versus Remo Stars FC.lived up to its billing in Jos .

The match witnessed a turn out of fans that thronged the uncompleted New Jos International Stadium to cheer the host team with various support groups .

The Mbwas Mangut tutored side started the match on an offensive with beautiful display of football artistry to the admiration of fans.

Remo Stars FC. on their part came with a game plan to frustrate the ‘Peace Boys’ ,imploring a defensive style of play that helped to checkmate magical Nenrot Silas from causing havoc.

Despite the tactical display of Remo Stars’ gaffer,Daniel Ogunbodede’s approach to soak the midfield by being economical with the ball,Plateau United dominated the midfield.

A major positive of the match for United was the in-form display of the team’s highest goal scorer Albert Hilary who put up a 5- star performance.

Hilary’s beautiful connection with Chimezie Izuchukwu complimented the team positively.

The match witnessed a lot of missed chances from both sides but Plateau United was the worst culprit.

The fans were relief in the 69th minute when United got a free kick that was beautifully planned,resulting into the goal line which was cleared out by Remo’s defender but was maximized by Izuchukwu from an inter changed found the legs of Sunday Anthony who converted the half chance with a low drive that resulted to the only goal of the match.

After the goal,Technical Adviser Mbwas Mangut made some tactical changes by introducing dare devil attacking midfielder, Bernard Mundi to strengthen the midfield while substituting goal-machine,Albert Hilary.

Remo Stars’,Sikiru Alimi would have save his team but wasted a begging opportunity which he ought to have converted.

The victory takes Plateau Utd to 4th position with 50 point on a superior goals difference while Remo Stars slide to 5th position on 50 point with a game at hand.

Plateau United will now face league leaders Rangers International on Sunday in Enugu.
