The Nigerian Premier Football League continues this weekend in various centres across 18 stadia with exception of Friday match between Heart Land vs Shooting Stars which ended 1 goal to nil in favour of Heart Land in Owerri.

One match that has all the trappings of a 5-star derby is the game between Plateau United FC.versus Remo Stars scheduled for Sunday in Jos.

The encounter is a tie breaker considering the positions of both teams in the NPFL table.

Plateau United are currently on 5th position with 47 point while Remo Stars is sitting comfortably on 4th position with 50 point having a game at hand against Rivers United.

One interesting thing about this match is that Plateau United will be remnencing their ordeal with the Ikenne millionaires whom they lost to by 2 goals to 1 last season in Jos.It was a match that turn sour into a fracas as players were whisked away from irate Plateau United fans by security operatives.

The ‘Peace Boys’have since put away that ugly incident behind them and they are ever resolute to come out stronger on Sunday.

On their own part Remo Stars are on a momentum despite playing two straight away match. The coach Daniel Ogunmodede tutored side will be hoping for an away victory in Jos to boost their chances of a CAF club position ,considering the huge expenses expended on the team as one the successful privately owned club in Nigeria.

One thing is sure the match is going to be a frenzy as both sides plays one of the best brands of football.

Plateau United is seen as the Brazil of Nigerian Premier league with their scintillating style of football. On the other hand Remo Stars plays a commanding and holistic brand of football likened to that of German side Bayern Munich couple with a cohesive defence with a very solid midfield.

The out come of the match will depend on so much of the coaches.Plateau United coach,Mbwas Magnut must decide his approach to the game, whether he will play the duo of mercurial Bernard Mundi and stylish Nenrot Silas upfront as pair or starting team’s highest goal scorer Herbert Hilary,if he is injury free.

For Remo Stars their mid-week one all draw against Doma United in Gombe was a morale booster considering the fact that their equaliser came in a stroke of time-90+2 minute by Nduka Junior.

Coach Daniel Ogunbodede is likely to maintain his team line-up used in Gombe by just sparkling the midfield so as to curtail the in-road of the’Peace Boys’in the mid-field.

Despite the scaring head-to-head record that favours the ‘Sky Blue Stars’,which gives Remo Stars an edge of 3 wins 1 draw and a loss. One thing is very certain, fans will have a good account of their monies as the uncompleted 60,000 capacity New Jos International Stadium will be a beehive of fun and fanfare on Sunday.

Eagle Eye Sports24 reports that after the Sunday fixtures Plateau United will head to Enugu where they will confront league leaders Enugu Rangers International at the renovated Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium while Remo Stars play host to rampaging Niger Tornadoes FC on Friday at the Remo Sports Stadium,Ikenne,Ogun State.

The verdict is that Plateau United will secure victory if only they score first but if Remo Stars score first ,it means the match will likely end in a draw.
