Police Apprehend Kidnappers Of Unijos Students ,27 Others

The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Police has paraded no fewer than 30 criminals for committing various crimes of conspiracy ,culpable homicide, rape ,murdered including a female trafficker who allegedly stole an Eighth months old baby girl (Nora Joshua ) of Ungwan Nasarawa Gwom of Jos North Local Government Council of Plateau State.
The Commissioner of Police ,CP Okoro Alawari while Parading the suspect before newsmen alongside 27 others on Monday at the command’s headquarters in Jos,promised to crackdown on criminals and ensure peace remain in the state.
He applauded the Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for the support given the police command in crime fighting in the state.
The newly appointed Plateau State Commissioner of Police,CP Okoro,is matching his words with actions barely few weeks he assumed duties in Jos.
Speaking to newsmen in Jos,CP Okoro,disclosed to the press:
The case of an arrest of culpable homicide suspect who was apprehended last July at about 2230hrs.
” A report was received at the Anglo-Jos Police station that one Fredrick Cirman ‘m’ of Zarmaganda area of Jos South LGA, had a misunderstanding with his friend, one Ajang Julius ‘m’, aged 30yrs and as a result, the said Fredrick Cirman stabbed his friend on the chest down and stomach with a knife. The DPO Anglo-Jos division, SP Bethel Obara immediately led a team of Policemen and arrested the suspect. The victim was immediately rushed to the Plateau Specialist Hospital for medical attention where he was later confirmed dead by the medical doctor”.
The Plateau State Police Command promised to furnish the media with unfolding developments regarding the case in due course.
Similarly,CP Okoro also briefed the media of the suspect who stole a child,saying:she was a flat mate of the victim’s (Nora Joshua ) parents whom have enjoyed cordial relationship when the mother allow her to stay with her .
Alluding that the suspects paraded for various crimes, on Monday was as a result of hard work recorded by the command .He told Journalists that they were arrested at different locations within the shortest period of his assumption of office about a month ago.
Meanwhile, the suspected human trafficker who stole the baby, during interview with Journalists, argued that she didn’t take the baby away from the parents with bad intentions; that was why she reported herself to the police in Lagos where she took the baby to, and subsequently returned her to Jos and again reported herself to the police.
Eagle Eye News24 gathered that the said suspect is a divorcee with two children who are currently leaving with her Ex-Husband said she regretted her action .
CP Okoro revealed that his administration has launched a manhunt on all criminal elements in the State, and he will ensure that they are flushed out.
The Police boss also paraded a gang of four kidnappers led by one Salisu Adamu, who whisked away seven Students of the University of Jos recently.
Another gang of kidnappers who collected a ransom of 4.5 million Naira from a victim in Enugu State were also paraded same Monday, with five expert criminals who specialized in stealing Transformers and other electrical installations.
CP Okoro thanked Plateau citizens for volunteering information’s to the police, which led to the arrest of most of the suspects paraded.
The Commissioner of Police said the suspects will be charged to Court for prosecution upon completion of investigations by the police.
