2023/24 NPFL season kick-off date postponed

The 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League season kick-off date has been postponed.

The new season was earlier scheduled to begin on Saturday, August 26.

EAGLE EYE NEWS24 reports that the new kick-off date has now been fixed for between September 8-10, 2023.

The postponement was caused by the need to put the proper logistics in place to ensure a hitch-free competition.

Meanwhile, the draw ceremony for the new season will hold in Lagos on Thursday.

Recall that the Peoples Elephant, Enyimba FC of Aba won the title for a record ninth time last season.

The new season is expected to run in full format unlike last season where it was played in abridged format of two groups with 10 teams each comprising of twenty teams.
